ACT Terms and Conditions
The Examinee Terms and Conditions: Testing Rules and Policies for the ACT Test ("Terms and Conditions") are a legal agreement between the person who will take the ACT® test ("you") and ACT Education Corp. ("ACT"). They set out important rules and policies relating to your taking the ACT test, including those relating to test security. By registering for, launching, starting, or submitting answer documents for an ACT test ("test"), you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. All references to "test" or "tests" in these Terms and Conditions refer to the ACT test and test-related documents in paper, electronic, or any other form, including test booklets, test questions, test responses, and responses marked on answer documents.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. If you have any questions, you may discuss them with your parent, legal guardian, or trusted adult. You should carefully review the Terms and Conditions each time you test (available on the ACT website at www.act.org/the-act/terms).

1. Test Security and Testing Regulations
ACT takes test security very seriously. The ACT test is a standardized exam relied upon by higher education institutions, state scholarship authorities, and secondary school boards. ACT enforces stringent procedural safeguards to verify testing integrity and guarantee equitable testing conditions. Misconduct, unauthorized assistance, or disruptive behavior will result in immediate score cancellation and potential administrative bar.
2. Acceptable Identification and Admittance Protocol
All examinees must provide valid government-issued photographic identification upon arrival. Failure to provide acceptable credentials shall result in admittance forfeiture without reimbursement. All instructions issued by proctors and test center coordinators must be adhered to strictly.
3. Prohibited Electronic Devices and Auxiliary Aids
Smartphones, smartwatches, wearable recording devices, unauthorized calculators, and unapproved electronic materials are strictly forbidden inside the testing hall. Unauthorized possession or attempted usage will prompt immediate dismissal, device confiscation for administrative review, and score invalidation.
4. Mandatory Arbitration and Score Invalidation
ACT reserves the affirmative right to cancel scores in situations indicating testing irregularities, system compromises, or suspected non-independent work. Examinees retain access to administrative review procedures as defined in the Dispute Resolution protocol.
I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT THE TERMS PERMIT ACT TO CANCEL MY SCORES IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. THE TERMS ALSO LIMIT DAMAGES AVAILABLE TO ME AND REQUIRE ARBITRATION OF CERTAIN DISPUTES. BY AGREEING TO ARBITRATION, ACT AND I BOTH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE THOSE DISPUTES HEARD BY A JUDGE OR JURY.
I understand that ACT owns the test questions and responses, and I will not share them with anyone by any form of communication before, during, or after the test administration. I understand that taking the test for someone else may violate the law and subject me to legal penalties.
I consent to the collection and processing of personally identifying information I provide, and its subsequent use and disclosure, as described in the ACT Privacy Policy. If I am taking the test outside of the United States, I also permit ACT to transfer my personally identifying information to the United States, to ACT, or to a third-party service provider, where it will be subject to use and disclosure under the laws of the United States, including being accessible to law enforcement or national security authorities.
